Platform

TikTok In-Feed

Keep text and logos out of: top 240 px, bottom 660 px, left 120 px, right 120 px; button column 300 px from the right edge from y = 840 px down (on a 1080 × 1920 frame).

Measured from TikTok's official In-Feed standard safe-zone template (drawn at 720 × 1280: top 160, bottom 440, sides 80, right column 720 px tall). TikTok says the safe zone also depends on ratio and ad text length, and publishes separate files for Arabic (RTL) and ads with anchors.

How to use it

  1. 1Choose the platform.
  2. 2Upload your 9:16 image or video (it stays in your browser).
  3. 3Move any text or logo out of the red areas, then download the overlay to share with your team.

Why safe zones matter

On full-screen placements, the platform draws its own interface on top of your ad: the account name and caption at the bottom, the like, comment and share buttons on the right, and the progress bar and close button at the top. A headline or price placed there is partly hidden, which wastes the most valuable seconds of the ad.

Where the numbers come from

Each overlay uses the platform's own published safe zone: Meta's 14% top, 35% bottom and 6% side margins for Reels and Stories, TikTok's official in-feed template, Google's vertical video diagram for Shorts, and Snap's and Pinterest's published specs. The source is linked under each platform.

Questions & answers

What is the TikTok safe zone?

On a 1080 × 1920 frame, TikTok's in-feed template keeps about 240 px at the top, 660 px at the bottom and 120 px at each side free, plus a button column on the right from about 840 px down.

What is the Instagram Reels safe zone?

Meta asks advertisers to keep roughly the top 14%, the bottom 35% and 6% on each side of a 9:16 Reels or Stories ad free of text and logos.

Does it work with video?

Yes. Upload an MP4 or MOV and scrub to any frame. Nothing is uploaded; the check runs in your browser.
