Bakery & restaurant ad examples

Food ads need two things: food that looks good enough to eat and a reason to come in today. This page has two analysed examples so far, both made with AdCreator: a notes-app style ad for a neighbourhood bakery and a Black Friday offer for a burger restaurant. Each one is broken down by hook, offer, button and layout, with one weakness and a variation to test. The tips below apply to cafés, pizza places and takeaways too.

All ads on this page were made with AdCreator's AI for fictional demo brands. Names, quotes and offers are illustrations, not real businesses or results.

Saturday plans — AI-made ad for The Flour Mill (fictional neighbourhood bakery). Phone-notes style list with a golden croissant overlapping the corner.
The Flour Mill · Notes app

Example 1

Saturday plans notes-app list

Hook
'Saturday plans' in a phone-notes card with a yellow top bar looks like a screenshot from someone's phone, not an ad.
Offer
No discount: the promise is a slow Saturday with fresh croissants at The Flour Mill.
Call to action
No button on the image. The list is the pitch, so the platform's button has to carry the click.
Format
Notes app

Why it works

The notes-app format copies the look of a phone's notes screen: a white card with a thin yellow bar on top, plain black system type and a numbered list. Here it reads '1. Sleep in', '2. Fresh croissants at The Flour Mill', '3. Nothing else'. The joke lives in item three: the plan is so simple that the bakery becomes the whole day. The brand name sits in the middle line, where the eye lands after the setup, and it is the only brand mention. A large, glossy croissant overlaps the bottom right corner of the card, breaking the frame so it almost pops off the screen, and its deep golden layers are the only colour in the ad. That contrast is what stops the scroll. It targets locals planning their weekend, ideally reached on Friday evening or Saturday morning. Weaknesses: no address, opening time or offer, and no button, so the ad builds appetite and then leaves people to find you on their own. A fourth line with your opening hour and street would fix that.

Test next: Schedule it for Friday evening and Saturday morning only, and test a version where line three reads 'Open from 7, on [your street]'.

BLACK FRIDAY — AI-made ad for Burger Joint (fictional burger restaurant). Stacked cheeseburger on a black and gold Black Friday background.

Example 2

Black Friday 2-for-1 burgers

Hook
Gold 'BLACK FRIDAY' in huge letters, half hidden behind a flying cheeseburger, signals a sale before any number is read.
Offer
Two burgers for the price of one, on Friday 28 November only.
Call to action
'ORDER NOW' on a full-width gold bar. Right for a one-day deal, as long as online ordering exists.
Format
Seasonal

Why it works

A seasonal offer ad that rides on a date everyone already knows. The background is black, with gold-foil burger illustrations along both edges and gold dust around the main photo. In the centre, an exploded cheeseburger floats in layers: a sesame bun dripping sauce, a patty under melted cheese, then tomato and lettuce on the bottom bun. The top bun overlaps the word 'FRIDAY', a layering trick that adds depth, though it does cut into the letters. Below, '2 burgers for 1' is set in gold script, the date line in plain gold, then a gold bar button. Black and gold borrows the retail Black Friday look, so the ad reads as a deal instantly. The offer is simple and social, since two burgers means bringing someone along. The weakness: the restaurant's name, Burger Joint, appears nowhere, and on a day crowded with Black Friday ads that is costly. The ad also does not say whether the deal covers dine-in, takeaway or delivery.

Test next: Add the logo and 'Dine-in & takeaway' under the date, and test the gold script line against the same words in bold block capitals.

Ad ideas we are making next

Finished, analysed examples for this industry are on the way. These are the ads we plan to add.

  • Offer-first: bakery 'Free coffee with any pastry before 10 am' over an overhead shot of a full pastry counter
  • UGC overlay: restaurant 'POV: you finally booked the corner table' over a phone-style photo of a candlelit table for two
  • Testimonial: pizza place quote taken from a real Google review, over a fresh margherita coming out of a wood-fired oven
  • Feature callout: sourdough loaf with callouts 'Baked at 5 am', '48-hour ferment' and 'Local flour'
  • Event: restaurant 'Wine & tapas night, Thursday 7 pm' poster over a long shared table at dusk

Tips for bakery & restaurant ads

  • Photograph the real dish close up in daylight or warm light, with steam, flaky layers or melted cheese. Appetite is triggered by detail.
  • Tie the offer to a time: 'Saturday croissants', 'lunch 11 to 2', '2-for-1 Friday only'. A date turns the ad into a plan.
  • Always add the address or area, opening hours and how to order: walk in, delivery app or table booking.
  • If you mention allergens, diets or 'homemade', make sure it is true for every item in the shot.
